Sankey Keg Coupler – 6 Types Stainless Steel Beer Keg Tap Connector

A keg coupler is the thing that actually makes your beer come out.

It connects your keg to two lines:

  • one from the CO₂ or nitrogen tank (the push)
  • one to your tap (the pour)

The gas pushes the beer up and out. No coupler? No pressure. No pour.

Product Overview

This Sanke keg coupler is compatible with Type S, D, G, U, A, and M Sanke kegs, making it a versatile solution for bars, homebrew setups, and commercial draft beer systems. Constructed from food-grade stainless steel, this beer keg tap ensures reliable sealing, smooth beer flow, and long-lasting durability.

Whether you are serving North American domestic beers, European imports, German-style kegs, or specialty craft brews, this universal coupler has you covered.

Types of keg couplers

One important thing to know: there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all keg coupler. Depending on the beer you want to tap — and where it comes from — you need to make sure you have the right type.

FAQs

What material is the coupler made of?

A: The body is made of food-grade 304 stainless steel with a chrome-plated brass or stainless probe, ensuring corrosion resistance, durability, and safe contact with beer. Internal seals are made of FDA-approved rubber/EPDM.

Is it compatible with my existing kegerator or draft system?

Yes. The couplers feature standard connections — typically 5/8" thread for the beer-out line and 5/16" barb for the gas-in line — making them compatible with most home kegerators, jockey boxes, and commercial draft setups.

What is the maximum working pressure?

The coupler is rated for a working pressure of up to 70 PSI, with a built-in pressure relief valve (PRV) for safety. Normal serving pressure is 10–14 PSI depending on the beer style.

How should I clean and maintain the coupler?

After each keg (or every 2 weeks for active use), disassemble the coupler and soak the parts in a beer-line cleaning solution (e.g., PBW or a caustic-free cleaner), rinse thoroughly with warm water, and lubricate the O-rings with food-grade keg lube before reassembly. Avoid bleach, which can damage seals and stainless steel.
